modular solar panelsVanguard Space Technologies has combined conventional, high-performance solar cells and lay-down techniques with lightweight, rigid composite substrates to produce Modular Solar Arrays with Integrated Construction (MOSAIC) that all but eliminate non-recurring design, analysis and qualification schedules and costs. These Modular Solar Panels are compatible with a variety of small spacecraft, including ESPA-class, and are scalable from 17W to 1kW in either body mounted or deployed applications. Typical deployed applications can assemble modules into panels with up to 100W per panel and five panels per wing. The pre-qualified and plug-and-play single-string modules provide standardized building blocks to shorten design development and simplify spacecraft integration, testing and ground maintenance functions. Versatile in approach, the modularity delivers options for environmental and threat shielding, electromagnetic cleanliness and advanced cell integration.
